Celebrating Black History Month in Los Angeles

February is Black History Month, where we celebrate Black history, heritage, and culture! Here are some ways you can celebrate Black History Month in Los Angeles this month: 

Drive-in Movie at Brookside Park – Brookside Park will be having drive-in movie nights- perfect for friends and families. 

Take a Trip to Bruce’s Beach – This beach is located in Manhattan Beach, CA. This is land that was once owned by the Bruce family. Go to Bruce’s beach and learn about the heritage of this land. 

Grand Hope Park Marketplace – An outdoor marketplace where vendors will be selling a variety of goods and food. All vendors are Black-owned businesses, so go out and support their business while enjoying their delicious, cultural cuisine!

Go to a Black Film Festival – The USC Fisher Museum of Art will be hosting a Black film festival, where they will be showing a variety of films produced and filmed by Black writers, producers, directors, and actors. Enjoy a night out watching movies with family and friends!

The Black Hair Experience – This pop-up interactive selfie museum is located in Los Angeles. This museum celebrates the beauty and magnificence of Black hair and beauty. This museum was to appreciate and spread “self love.”
