Boost Your Immune System with Vitamin C

It is so easy to get caught up in the stress of work, school and finals during this winter season, so the most beneficial thing to be doing this time of year is fortifying our immune system with vitamin C. Whenever I am trying to stay on top of my health, the first step I always take is increasing my intake of this water soluble vitamin. Studies show that consuming more vitamin C can increase your blood antioxidant levels while helping the body’s natural defenses fight inflammation. There are incredible effects on your body’s overall immune system when this single vitamin is incorporated, and there are many ways to do so.

A great way to keep your body healthy and better prepared to fight off any sickness is buying fresh fruits and vegetables high in vitamin c, such as: broccoli, oranges, cantaloupe, and bell peppers. When I feel like I need to boost my immunity, my go-to method is buying a box of Emergen-C and drinking one every morning when I wake up. Staying on top of your health this season is the most important thing you can be doing; make sure you load up on your vitamins and be proactive rather than reactive!
