I know what you’ve been thinking… why isn’t there a live show that combines my love of the Napa Valley, wine, and ballroom dance? I have good news for you–there finally is!
It’s called SAVOR After Hours, and it’s put on by none other than Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy, icons known for their work on Dancing With the Stars and illustrious careers in the competition, broadway, and studio world. Now, they’re taking their talents to the heart of wine country to share a unique blend of art and fine beverages.
Not only do audience members get to taste some of the most high-end work of local vintners, but each sip is also complemented by a routine that captures the personality of the flavors and tells a unique story. The music, costumes, style, and interactive nature of the show bring what may appear as a regular glass of wine to life before your very eyes. The Chmerkovskiy brothers gathered an incredible cast of seasoned dancers and new professionals to join them in their endeavor, and the blend of their personalities and talents is truly something to behold.
Don’t just take my word for it, though. My grandmother, a writer for the Napa Valley Register, attended the opening night and was instantly starstruck! Her rave reviews, combined with the outpouring of love from the internet, are more than enough for me to know that I have to see it for myself. As a dancer and performer, I don’t want to miss an opportunity to witness some of the industry’s best at work in one of the most intimate theaters around.
This one-of-a-kind experience takes place in JaM Cellars and runs through the end of August.
