A Glimpse of My Summer

Relaxing, destressing, unwinding – all essential parts of summer vacation, and probably the first things that most people think of when they hear the words “summer vacation” in the first place. With the few sunny months of freedom being a synonym for “have fun and go wild,” it’s no wonder that we pack our break with outings and events, like going to beaches, amusement parks, concerts, travelling, or even just movie nights with our close friends.

I, personally, am pretty excited for the upcoming 5 Seconds of Summer and Panic! at the Disco concerts, and I’m also planning my friend group’s traditional summer Great America trip a few weeks in advance. We usually have one big sleepover after the trip, something else that I’m incredibly excited for, because with sleepovers comes some stuff everyone loves: food, movies, and makeovers.

However, for a lot of people, “summer vacation” also means college applications, summer programs, studying, and summer homework. Later on in the summer, I have a summer program at the University of Pennsylvania lined up, where I can see what it’s like to be a college student and also experience the environment of my dream college firsthand.

Overall, my break is pretty packed, but I’m excited to make this summer the most memorable one yet. When it comes to fun and studying, I plan to have the best of both worlds – cute coffee shops AND college essays, anyone?

  1. Wow; your summer seems so cool! I hope you have a great time at UPenn, and I’m sure your college essays will be amazing! I wish my friends and I had a Great America trip every summer…maybe I’ll take a page from your book and plan one! Haha
