A Day in Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville is one of the fastest growing cities in south, so of course there is plenty to do.
Whether you are a teenager, a family, or you just want a girl’s night out, Nashville has fun for
everyone.

Start the day off sweet with breakfast at Five Daughters Bakery on 12 th Avenue South.
The doughnuts are made fresh daily, and they are always creatively decorated. After you have
soaked in all of the deliciousness, head over to The Gulch for light shopping.

The Gulch is a quaint little town on the east side of Nashville. It has plenty of boutiques,
coffee shops, and amazing locally owned restaurants. The Frist Center for the Visual Arts is two
blocks north, and is free for all ages. The museum showcases local artist’s works: paintings,
sculptures, and craftsmanship. The Frist is an exciting and easy way to pass time in the city.

After exploring every corner of The Gulch, visitors will be famished and ready for lunch.
San Antonio Taco Company has the best, and cheapest, tacos downtown. Located right in the
heart of Nashville, SatCo gives customers a sweet 80’s vibe. Not only are the tacos and queso to
die for, the company and bustle of the city is exciting.

On the west end, only a few blocks from SatCo, is Centennial Park: the home of the
Parthenon. The Parthenon is a major tourist attraction for visitors and locals. It houses the
enormous statue of Athena, alongside many other ancient Greek sculptures. The park itself is big
enough to wander around the beautiful landscaping for a couple of hours. Feed the ducks in the
pond, share a swing on the lawn, or simply walk and admire the beauty in the center of the city.

After a midday stroll through the park, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is a delectable way to
cool off. Spread all across Nashville, Jeni’s is impossible to not eat when you are in town. The
service at every location is equivalent to the quality of the sweet treat.

As the day is just beginning to lean towards the evening, the Nashville Farmer’s Market
is a perfect stop. Here you will find locally grown fruits and vegetables, handmade furniture and
keepsakes, and the perfect combination of people. You really cannot leave without buying a
small plant or souvenir. Walking all the way through the market really works up your appetite.

The next and final stop: Broadway. Broadway is famously tourist’s favorite spot in
Nashville. Also known as “music city,” this strip is where all the street performances occur, so
you want to go at night time when everything is illuminated. Acme Feed & Seed is one of the
most popular riverfront restaurants on Broadway. The rooftop seating gives a beautiful view of
the Tennessee River with the Nashville skyline bordering it.

After filling up on the traditional American style food, walk along Broadway and soak up
the music, performances, and the locals. Nashville is truly the heart of Tennessee, and this great
city has a lot to offer.
