60 Seconds LIVE! at LA Style Lounge

Style lounges are a secretive, unspoken Hollywood tradition. Every awards season, multiple companies assemble for these exclusive gifting suites, prepping massive swag bags for celebrities and influencers alike in return for media exposure. And this year, thanks to our parent organization Omics LIVE!, I got the chance to take 60 Seconds to the Style Lounge in celebration of this year’s Emmy Award nominees!

This particular Style Lounge was hosted in the Grand Ballroom of the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City; since Omics LIVE! sponsored the refreshments for the event, we set up our table directly outside the front door. Inside, stylists and makeup artists from Toni&Guy prepared the beauty suite for the celebrities, and companies like Contigo and HerbaLife assembled their swag bags for the event. The Style Lounge was slated to run for about five hours, with most of the talent arriving within the first two hours.

To help promote Omics LIVE!’s mission to bring career experiences to student interns, I conducted a series of LIVE interviews with some of the celebrities at the event—with a 60 Seconds twist, of course. Interviewees would have sixty seconds to answer as many questions as they could; the questions were pulled randomly each time, with some questions involving the celebrity’s personal journey in their career and others discussing sillier things (like their most highly anticipated fictional crossover event). Highlights from the afternoon include Lanny Joon’s (Baby Driver, Hawaii 5-0) personal t-shirt motto of “Don’t eat too much!” and Miles Tagtmeyer’s (Broken) charming description of how he reacted when he learned of his Emmy nomination.

The event exuded an air of celebrity and panache, yet almost all of the people I talked with were genuinely excited to listen to and partake in what our magazine had to offer. More importantly, however, I as a student learned so much about the inner workings of the entertainment industry through a personal hands-on experience I’ll never forget.

Special thanks once again to Omics LIVE! for providing me with this wonderful opportunity. Interested readers can see all of our 60 Seconds Interviews from the event on our Instagram page.

  1. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme
of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance”
between user friendliness and appearance. I must say you have done a fantastic job with this.

In addition, the blog loads super quick for me on Firefox.

    Excellent Blog! http://keo365.com/the-thao
