Getting to Know Me

Hello readers! My name is Fiona Delaney and I’m a writer and editor for the Lifestyle Tab here at 60 Seconds Magazine. I just wanted to write a little something about myself so you guys could get to know me more!

To get the basic stuff over with, I’m from Malibu, California and I come from a big family of one sister and three step siblings. I’m currently attending Chapman University where I am going to be a junior next fall as a creative writing major and Spanish minor. I love going to the beach, hiking, cooking, writing, reading, and listening to music (like, all the time). One thing that I especially love doing is taking polaroids. I actually have two cameras, the wide and the regular size. Yes, I know, it’s kind of a basic white girl thing, but I actually do enjoy taking them; I’m no photographer, but I have over 300 polaroids from the past four years and I always look back at them. Something about physically having the photo is so much more refreshing and fun than having it on my phone.

As a creative writer, I think it’s only natural that I share some of my favorite books, which are The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Paper Towns by John Green, the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld, The Fifth Wave series by Rick Yancey, and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Note that these are all totally different genres, but I loved them all the same! Since I mentioned my love for music, I’ll also list some of my favorite bands and artists: Florence and The Machine, Lorde, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hippocampus, and The Black Keys. I think my varied tastes in books and music really show my personality since I’m not really one thing or another, and I really just go with the flow for a lot of things.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little more!
