4 Fall Makeup Trends to Try This Season

The end of August is quickly approaching, which means it’s almost my favorite season of all time—fall! The chilly weather makes it perfect for dressing up and layering, and one of my all-time favorite things about fall is the richer color palette, especially when it comes to makeup. While my makeup routine remains largely the same, I do like to switch out certain products to align my look with the fall foliage, which consists of deep reds and rich browns and everything in between. Read on to see what my fall makeup picks are!

1. Nude and Matte Lip Color

I love a good red lip because it just embodies autumn so well, but this season, I want to be a little more adventurous and opt for a nude, matte color instead. This specific shade is a subtle play on the rich browns of fall that is also wearable on a daily basis. Nude lips are also super versatile since they can match with just about any look, while still radiating warmth.

2. Dark Red Nails

An often neglected part of our beauty routines is our nails. Whether you go to the salon or do your own nails at home, try opting for a deep, dark red—it embodies the season perfectly, especially for Halloween. I’ve been obsessed with glittery dark red polish, but for a more wearable everyday look, try opting for a shade that doesn’t have any sparkles.

3. Gold Toned Eyeshadows

I don’t wear dramatic eyeshadow on a daily basis, but when fall rolls around, there’s just something magical about gold-toned shadows on the eyelids. I love how it makes the eyes pop, while also lending the eyelids some depth, making it the perfect autumn look, especially when you’re in a rush.

4. Dewy Skin and Natural Blush

Last but not least, I love playing up a dewy, healthy complexion during the autumn. In the summer, I lean more towards matte makeup looks to avoid looking like a sweaty mess, but in the fall, I try to play up a healthy glow as much as possible. To achieve this look, I switch out foundations for a lighter and dewier BB or CC cream, and I finish the look with a cream blush, so I look rosy and sunkissed.
