Happy 2021! I’m super excited about the start of the new year, but one thing that I’m not looking forward to is dressing for the colder months. It can be hard to look cute and stylish when the temperatures are freezing, but one of the simplest ways to spice up an outfit is through pops of color.
Although the holiday season is over, we can still incorporate bold and bright hues into our wardrobes for some fun and chic outfits. Read on to see some of the easy ways that I add color to my ensembles!
- Outerwear
One of my favorite ways to add a pop of color to my outfit is through a coat because it’s easy to pull off. I usually opt for bold colors like apple red, bright green, or electric blue during the colder months since these flashy tones brighten up a winter outfit when it’s gray and gloomy outside.
To really make my ensemble stand out, I like to opt for a longer coat. Not only does the elegant silhouette help to pull the whole look together for a super chic outfit, but it’s also functional since it keeps my legs warm too.
- Shoes and Handbags
Another easy and more subtle way to brighten up an outfit is through accessories, such as boots and handbags. To prevent an outfit from looking too busy, I usually opt for accessories that are in the same color family. For instance, if I’m going to use a green handbag, I try to pick green boots or heels too. Even if the tones are slightly different, it can help to make the look appear more cohesive and effortlessly stylish.
- Jumpsuits
During the winter months, I never really want to wear skirts or dresses because it’s too cold. That’s where jumpsuits come in handy; they’re one of the easiest ways to dress up, while still staying warm. Although there are many chic options, monochromatic jumpsuits are risky because the outfit may appear shapeless and drab at first glance. To make a jumpsuit stand out, I opt for details such as a cinched waist, a deep v-neck, and of course, a bright color! This is one of the best and easiest ways to make your jumpsuit pop!
